PitchHU incubator participants will be provided with entrepreneurial training to understand how to effectively use key frameworks to define problems, customers & operating models.
“Early Stage” Businesses
Early-stage businesses (less than $5M lifetime revenue) that currently exist in the marketplace and are serving unique and unmet customer needs.
“Idea Stage” Businesses
Thoughtful ideas & solutions that address unmet needs across the greater Howard University community.
Participation Requirements:
Must be a current Howard student, alumni, faculty, or staff or have a connection to Howard University.
No prior business or startup experience is required.
Attend and complete the 8-week curriculum.
Submit Rocket Pitch for demo day pitch consideration at the conclusion of the 8-week curriculum.
Submission Requirements:
Participants will be required to participate across the whole program to be eligible. Submissions will fall between the idea stage and the business stage:
Idea stage: Identified ideas that address unmet needs across the greater Howard University community.
Early-stage businesses: Early-stage businesses (less than $5M lifetime revenue) that currently exist in the market and are serving customer needs.
Each submission will include a pitch deck, empathy map, and lean canvas.

The top teams will be invited to pitch to a panel of judges for up to $35K in non-dilutive grant funding, courtesy FISERV.
